Burgos Group is seeking a Site Superintendent to work on a Federal Government Heavy Civil project located at White Sands Missile Range, NM. The project is located between Socorro and Alamogordo, NM and will require multiple shifts and weekend work. Travel expenses will be reimbursed. Must be able to pass a Federal background check.

The Site Superintendent must have extensive experience in aboveground and underground construction. The Site Superintendent will direct, manage, supervise and coordinate all work on the project inclusive of all trades, subcontractors and equipment operators to meet the work requirements as described in the plans and specifications.

Responsibilities include:

• Coordinate and supervise all construction activities;
• Direct all field personnel to achieve completion of the project on schedule, within budget, with quality workmanship that conforms to plans and specifications;
• Maintain construction schedule, identify and solve problems;
• Order materials and schedule inspections as necessary throughout the process;
• Understand the project plans and specifications;
• Maintain positive relationships with customers, contractors, suppliers and other employees;
• Prepare, schedule and supervise completion of a final punch list;
• Promote job site safety, encourage safe work practices and rectify job site hazards immediately;
• Ensure all company employees and contractors are adhering to the company safety policy;
• Maintain an organized job site, including the construction office;
• Review qualifications of subcontractors;
• Collaborate with Quality Control and Site Safety counterparts to ensure coordination between areas of responsibility;
• In addition to the accountabilities above, other responsibilities, tasks, and deliverables may be assigned to the position.

Minimum Qualifications

• Minimum of 10 years of supervisory tunneling experience within the last 15 years;
• Minimum of 2 years superintendent experience on at least 2 rock tunnel construction projects;
• Demonstrated supervisory experience in underground construction projects including conventionally mined tunnels of 20 foot span or greater, drilling and blasting, installation of Rock Reinforcement, structural steel support sets and shotcrete linings;
• The ability to communicate in written and oral formats with diplomacy and tact;
• Demonstrated knowledge of contract compliance in government construction;
• Successful track record in effectively engaging with subcontractors;
• Competent in using Microsoft Office products, email systems, and Windows.
